Dear Parents:

• As you know, California is facing a financial crisis that is compromising the quality of our public schools.
• The state of California provides 93% of our local district’s funding.
• In the past two years and the next two years, this crisis has and will cost Torrance Unified School District $62 Million in funding.
• This is more than 25% of the entire budget.

What can you do to help?

We are asking you to make a donation to "SAVE OUR SCHOOLS" (SOS).  TUSD, like surrounding districts, is seeking support from parents to ensure our students’ educational futures.

• We are asking all our parents to donate just $1 a day, $365 for the year, for every student they have enrolled in TUSD.
• This may seem a high price to pay, but think of the alternatives: larger classes, less teacher/student time, dirty campuses, and less time with counselors. Any amount you give will be gratefully appreciated by the students of Torrance.
• Your donation to the TUSD "Save Our Schools" campaign will not only benefit our children, but it is tax deductible.
